Noosa District Orchid & Foliage Society
We are a group of Orchid lovers who meet regularly, to discuss, learn about, enjoy and indulge our passion for orchids.
Our members include some experts, some fairly knowledgeable growers - and some real novices to orchid care and growing.
What we have in common is a love for these beautiful plants and a desire to share our enthusiasm.
We provide members with a newsletter, monthly speakers, local judging and much, much more!
We invite you to join us at our regular monthly meeting on the first Saturday of each month at the Mt Tinbeerwah hall - Noosa. Tinbeerwah Hall, cnr Sunrise and Cooroy Noosa Rd, Sunshine Coast.

JUST AMAZING - Joyce Cunningham
One of our LIFE MEMBERS, Joyce Cunningham - at 91 years - is still an active member of our club.
She came to our Mothers' Day show on Saturday with 3 plants and she won TWO ribbons. She also helped with selling tickets at the door.
Isn't that just amazing!
Second prise for her Cattleya and Second prise for her Foliage plant. Congratulations Joyce.
Her motto in life is IF YOU DON"T USE IT YOU LOOSE IT.
You are an inspiration for all of us.

Internationally Guest speaker - Presenting talks on BULBOPHYLLUMS
Internationally recognized speaker, orchid hunter, breeder and grower extraordinaire Bill Thoms will be presenting talks on Bulbophyllum and Orchid culture at The Coolum Civic Centre on August 19. This program covers everything you need to know to grow and bloom these fascinating plants, as well as talks on general orchid culture.
Bill Thoms has been growing orchids around Central Florida for more than 45 years and has received almost every award granted by the AOS as well as more Awards for Culture than anyone else in the world, capped off with a 98 point Certificate of Cultural Excellence for Bulbophyllum Emily Siegerist.
Many of his crosses are winning awards around the world and the AOS has recently added a yearly award named in his honour for the best Bulbophyllum exhibited.
The talks are spiced with funny stories and funny associations so whether you grow thousands of orchids or only a few, you will have a wonderfully entertaining time and be able to grow anything better. Many of the most important requirements for growing world class plants are made easy to understand and remember.
Donít miss this great opportunity to learn how to grow these fascinating plants and to hear one of the most knowledgeable, interesting and funny speakers in the orchid world.
